Fastest way to get an AVI onto a DVD

Computing

Today I found a great little app called DivXtoDVD. It does exactly what the name suggests. DivX to DVD. Or, XviD for that matter … it supports many AVI formats and a few others too. But, the key thing here is it’s simple. Damn simple. No menu, no frilly bits, no bloatware, no spyware, just simple. You select your AVI file, you select a folder as your output folder, and click convert. Done!

There are only two little things that I don’t like about this program: firstly, it outputs as a VIDEO_TS folder, which is great if you have burning software. If you’ve got Nero you just start a new DVD-Video project, drag all the VTS, IFO, BUP, etc files in the VIDEO_TS folder that DivXtoDVD makes, and you’re good to go. However, if you don’t have Nero handy, get ImgBurn. It works very nicely. Combined with ImgTool Classic, a frontend for ImgBurn, and you’ve got a very simple XviD to DVD solution.

To get DivXToDVD, it is important that you get version 0.5.2 which is FREE. You can get it from here. The reason you should get 0.5.2 is because that is the last free version, after that, the developers added lots more features but made it shareware. However, who needs all those features? The free version works great :)
