The IT Crowd
Who would ever have thought someone could convince a TV network to make a show about geeks. It has happened. The IT Crowd is a new show on Channel 4 in the UK which gives an insight into two IT managers and their technology-challenged manager. To my knowledge it’s the first geek sitcom. It’s surprisingly good too! I’ve found it funny, and there is even real geek humour in parts of it. The whole sub-culture of IT people seems to have been emulated pretty well, even down to Roy always answering the phone with “Hello I.T, have you tried turning it off and on again?” There is even the stereotypical geek with pants pulled up too high who still lives with his mum at the age of 32.
If you’re in the UK, are using Windows, and consent to having to tolerate Windows Media Player DRM, you can watch it at the Channel 4 website, or otherwise you can get it, ehm … where you normally .. erh, download TV …
*unrelated* In other real-world news, a few days ago it was Valentines Day, I didn’t really celebrate it due to lack of a valentine … heh, a funny thing happened though. Watching the news that night there was a story about a couple getting married at a McDonalds store. That would have been funny … I wonder if they wanted fries with that?
